This Ming-Jiang Zhu Model 909 violin (#109) is a Guarneri model and was made by the senior master luthiers at the MJZ workshop. It includes a Certificate of Authenticity by the maker. Made of high grade, select European tonewood, this violin features a lustrous spruce top plate and a nicely figured Bosnian maple back with matching ribs, neck, and scroll. The instrument is finished in a beautiful hand applied oil varnish and setup with boxwood fittings. It is strung up with Pirastro Perpetual strings. Reminiscent of old-world Italian masters, the Model 909 is elegant and is easy to play. Producing a powerful, rich and open tone, it is a fine professional instrument for players at any level. Ming-Jiang Zhu was an internationally renowned master of violin making and a vice president of the China Violin Makers Association. He has won 19 awards from international competitions, including two gold medals and two silver medals from the Violin Society of America. He has been featured in TIME magazine and was recognized as being "within the top 5% of violin makers in the world today.”
