Ming-Jiang Zhu was an internationally renowned master of violin making and a vice president of the China Violin Makers Association. He has won 19 awards from international competitions, including two gold medals and two silver medals from the Violin Society of America. He has been featured in TIME magazine and was recognized as being "within the top 5% of violin makers in the world today.”
This particular Ming-Jiang Zhu Model 905 violin is a Guarneri model and was made by the senior master luthiers at the MJZ workshop. Made of high grade, select tonewood, this violin features a lustrous spruce top plate with a medium figured maple back, ribs, neck, and scroll. The instrument is finished in a beautiful hand-rubbed spirit varnish and setup with boxwood fittings and Guarneri model chinrest. It is strung up with Pirastro Tonica strings. Reminiscent of old-world Italian masters, the Model 905 is elegant and is easy to play. Producing a powerful, rich and open tone, it is a fine professional instrument for players at any level.
